KENDRICK LAMAR GRACES COVER OF VIBE’S ‘BIG LIST’ ISSUE

Recognized as trailblazers to carry the torch into a new generation, “Leaders of the New Cool” Kendrick Lamar and Miguel were meticulously picked to grace the commemorative double cover issue of Vibe’s April/May “Big List” issue.
Kendrick, who is draped in all-white and adorned with swanky gold chains, appears as pristine as his current state in Hip-hop. The Compton prodigy sold over 200,000 units of his major label debut good kid, m.A.A.d. city in its first week, was featured on countless singles (including Young Jeezy’s ‘R.I.P.’ and Emeli Sandé’s ‘Next to Me’), revamped the mellow cut off his universally praised 2012 album by looping in a wicked offering from Hip-hop idol Jay-Z, and of course, was dubbed this year’s greatest emcee. Three words: Black boy fly.
When asked if there was anything he didn’t get to do that he has in mind for the next go-round, Kendrick said,

"I never got a chance to reach out to Nas. I was so wrapped up in getting the music done and samples cleared and mastered. I didn’t wanna rush the process; I actually wanted to sit in the studio and vibe with him. [It was] the only thing that I had a vision for that I sought out to accomplish, but in due time…"

During his all-too-exclusive interview with Vibe, Kendrick lamar was also asked about artistic risks, biggest motivators and who he wishes to collaborate with in the near future.
