Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently chopped it up with Fighthype.com about several topics. The pound-for-pond best boxer in the world said he'll never do business with Bob Arum again and for that reason a Manny Pacquiao will never happen, gave his opinion that Adrien Broner should move down from welterweight to junior welterweight to get his career back in order, and spoke on the WBC making Pacquiao the No. 1 contender for his welterweight belt and the Filipino fighter's IRS problems.

"Floyd Mayweather is at the level now he can come out with his own world championship belt...I'm 45 and 0 throughout my professional career, and like I always said before, and I'ma say it again; you put 'em in front of me, I'll beat 'em...you gotta realize this, everybody kept talking about the title, he's mandatory; he can have the belt. A belt doesn't make me."

Chicago Bulls fans were shocked to find out that Derrick Rose injured himself on the court once again (Nov 22). Last year, Derrick Rose had to sit out of the 2012-2013 NBA season from a torn ACL and he'll be out for the 2013-2014 season from a torn meniscus.

USA Today defines the role of the meniscus:

The meniscus acts as a cushion for knee bones, and without, the chance of early arthritis and other problems increase.

It was an MRI exam (Nov 23) that revealed that Derrick suffered from a torn meniscus on his right knee. This unexpected injury forces him to sit out the rest of the season as he enters rehabilitation. On Monday (Nov 25), Derrick had surgery on his right knee and it’s unclear how long it will take for Derrick to reach a full recovery.

Dwight Howard vs. Housewife Free Throw Competition

Howard took on the daughter of Los Angeles Times columnist T.J. Simers, Kelzer Nielson, a mother of three and, apparently, a solid free-throw shooter.

The big man was so confident in his ability to beat Nielson that he even volunteered to shoot left-handed, which cannot be much worse than Howard shooting normally, can it?

Howard missed his first five shots before finally making one, while Nielson put in two of her first six. As the two went back and forth, she did her best to psych him out, even spitting out a, "Kobe thinks you're soft" before he took his fourth shot.

Howard had a chance to tie things up on his ninth attempt, but it sailed wide after knocking off the side of the rim. Nielson knocked in her 10th shot—her fifth bucket of the contest—to put Howard on ice and take the victory.

Following the initial terms of the wager, Howard had to give $5,000 to a charity of Simers and Nielson's choice and live with the knowledge that a mother of three beat him in a free-throw shooting contest. It was a fun little contest to toss online, but there was something to take away from the three-minute video that really says something.

Howard mentioned twice about thinking too much during a game and letting his head get the best of him at times. Simers added in a quote from his column for the L.A. Times.

"I have only one problem and it's between my ears," said Howard, while admitting he visited a Lakers' psychiatrist. "I just think too much."

Of course, he also told Simers that he wasn't planning on changing his free-throw style during the offseason—just that he would be shooting more of them.

Simers stated that Howard eventually did beat his daughter in a free-throw contest—it just took him two hours to do so.
