Macklemore made a pit stop at Power 105.1's Breakfast Club while in New York to speak on his newfound success from his smash hit with Ryan Lewis, "Thrift Shop." He also delved into how he wants respect as an MC, his battle with drug addiction and latest single "Same Love," saying the inspiration came from his urge to address a real issue that has been swept under the rug in hip-hop. "To me [Same Love] was like a bigger issue," Macklemore explains. "I wanted to put myself out there in a way that was real, hold myself accountable, hold hip-hop accountable because it's a very homophobic art form and not only just challenge myself but the listeners to talk about an issue that I feel really doesn't get addressed in hip-hop music." Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg was critical of Papoose's diss of Kendrick Lamar on the radio this morning. Pap called in to defend himself. The conversation turned into a huge argument when Pap took offense at Rosenberg calling Kendrick the best in the game.

Pap told Rosenberg that he and Miss Info were biased against him. He also called out Peter for constantly praising K. Dot and for not defending New York because he's from Washington, D.C.

Meek Mill recently sat down with Mina SayWhat at Philadelphia radio station Power 99. Mina asked the Dream Chasers Records boss about the conflict that happened between 50 Cent and Trav at MixShow Live in Atlanta on August 10th.

As we previously reported, a disagreement between Trav and 50, who are like brothers spilled out into the public. While onstage at the event the G-Unit CEO invited Meek up during the listening suite for his label. Trav happened to be with Meek. 50 pushed Trav before Meek stepped in to calm things down.

Meek explained what happened to Mina.

"They family. I don't know if people understand that. People might think 50 was mad at him because he was with me. No, they had curent problems...public problems," Meek said. "They both was mad, so I just stepped in. If y'all got problems handle that on your own time.Because it's a million cameras in here. The way these blogs are gonna put it. '50 Cent pushes Meek Mill's friend.' I seen him {Trav] on the phone with 50. They talked like 4 or five times afterwards."

Meek goes on to explain his relationship with 50 and why he wouldn't allow an altercation to go down between 50 and his MMG boss either.

"I always knew 50 Cent. I be wanting people to understand that," he continued. "Even if that was 50 Cent and Ross about to fight I would have got in the middle. Y'all not gonna fight while I'm right here. I know both of y'all. Y'all got me in the middle of this. That mean y'all don't got no respect for me. 50 a cool guy. He cool on my end. Before I was signed to anybody, 50 always came through. He was trying to make moves with me. With all the Philly artists basically. That's how we met."
